Mamta Yadav’s journey from a humble background in Basai village, Haryana, to becoming the village’s first IAS officer is a testament to her perseverance and determination. Despite financial constraints and her father’s occupation in a private company, Mamta pursued her education with dedication.
After completing her schooling at Balwant Rai Mehta School in GK, Delhi, Mamta went on to graduate from Hindu College, Delhi University. Undeterred by initial setbacks, she embarked on her UPSC journey, dedicating four years to preparation.
Despite facing disappointment in her first attempt in 2019, where she secured AIR 556, Mamta remained steadfast in her ambition to become an IAS officer. She continued her rigorous preparation, both through coaching and self-study, committing 8 to 10 hours daily initially and later increasing it to 10 to 12 hours per day.
Her unwavering focus and hard work bore fruit when she secured an impressive AIR 5th in the UPSC examination in 2020, realizing her dream of becoming an IAS officer. Mamta’s achievement not only brings pride to her village but also serves as an inspiration to countless others from similar backgrounds, proving that with determination and perseverance, extraordinary feats can be accomplished despite humble beginnings.
