Chandigarh: Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana BJP chief, was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state on Tuesday, shortly after Manohar Lal Khattar and his cabinet ministers resigned from their positions. This unexpected development took place in Chandigarh, just a few weeks before the Lok Sabha elections.
Khattar, who was serving his second term as chief minister, was also set to conclude his tenure in October, coinciding with the upcoming assembly polls.
Saini, currently representing Kurukshetra in Parliament, assumed the role of BJP’s Haryana unit president in October. He is known to have a close relationship with Khattar.
