A 19-minute private video allegedly featuring an Instagram couple has triggered widespread confusion, speculation and online harassment after social media users misidentified a completely unrelated influencer as the woman seen in the clip. The video, reportedly 19 minutes and 32 seconds long, has circulated across multiple platforms, even as its authenticity remains unverified.
Misidentification fuels online trolling
The controversy intensified when netizens began tagging Sweet Zannat, a Meghalaya-based influencer with over 3.5 lakh followers, claiming she appeared in the viral MMS. Within hours, her social media comment sections were flooded with questions, accusations and unsolicited remarks.
The influencer, who had no connection to the video, found herself at the centre of a misinformation spiral.
Responding to the rumours, she released a video urging viewers to compare her appearance with that of the woman in the clip.
“Kahin se bhi ye meri tarah lag rahi hai?” she asked, emphasising that the two looked nothing alike. She also criticised those making unfounded assumptions, saying that someone else’s actions were unfairly being “thrust upon her.”
Influencer responds with clarity — and humour
Attempting to diffuse the rumour with honesty and light-heartedness, she added that she had not studied beyond Class 12, while the woman in the clip appeared to speak fluent English.
“Free me mere ko viral kar rahe ho,” she joked, referencing the unexpected surge in her followers and views.
She later uploaded the clarification on her YouTube channel as well, urging people to stop spreading misinformation.
