A shocking incident unfolded on Monday morning aboard the Madurai-Guruvayur Passenger Express, where a passenger was allegedly bitten by a snake. The victim, identified as Karthik from Madurai, was traveling in the sixth bogie when the incident occurred. Upon feeling the snake bite, he disembarked at Ettumanoor station and was subsequently transferred to the Medical College Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the snake likely emerged from under Karthik’s seat, leading to the unfortunate encounter. Fortunately, Karthik’s injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening, and his condition is described as stable by railway police officers.
Witnesses among his co-passengers corroborated the presence of the snake under the seat, adding to the validity of the incident. In response to the situation, the train was halted for 10 minutes at Ettumanoor station.
