Ujjain: A 16-year-old boy from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday after facing hate comments on his Instagram transition Reels. The minor, identified as Priyanshu Yadav, hung himself using his mother’s dupatta while alone at home. The class 10 student, a social media influencer posting makeup and beauty content, had received hate comments on a Diwali transition Reels featuring him in a saree.
The police are investigating the connection between online trolling and the tragic incident, examining comments and evidence related to the case. The boy’s mother spoke of his sudden and tragic decision, emphasizing the need for awareness about online bullying and its impact on mental health.
