Pune: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Sunil Kamble, has been booked for allegedly slapping an on-duty police constable at Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra. The incident, captured in a video that surfaced on social media, occurred after a program at the hospital in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Based on the constable’s complaint, Kamble has been charged under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code. In the video, Kamble is seen descending the stairs after the event, encountering the on-duty constable, and slapping him.

In response to the allegations, Kamble denied assaulting anyone and claimed, “I did not assault anyone. I was coming down the steps when someone came in the way. I pushed him and went ahead.” The incident has drawn attention and sparked controversy, prompting legal action against the BJP MLA.
