Mumbai: Mumbai’s Juhu Police Station has detained a man for attempting to scam the production company of Bollywood star Akshay Kumar by falsely promising job opportunities. This plot was part of a larger scheme targeting social media influencer Pooja Anandani.

The individual in custody, 29-year-old Prince Kumar Sinha, tried to swindle Ms. Anandani using deceitful tactics. Fortunately, she was quick to detect the fraud, averting any harm.

According to a Juhu Police officer, the suspect first made contact with Ms. Anandani pretending to be “Rohan Mehra,” a supposed staffer at Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. He misrepresented himself and promised her a role in a movie purportedly about the Nirbhaya case, asking her to meet him in Juhu.

Their initial meeting occurred at a coffee shop where he had a photographer, falsely claiming to be connected to Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, take her pictures. A follow-up meeting was set at the JW Marriott hotel in Juhu, but by then, Ms. Anandani had alerted the police.

The police captured Prince at the hotel during this scheduled meet-up.

Further investigation revealed that on April 3, Prince used his phone to contact Ms. Anandani as “Rohan Mehra,” fraudulently claiming to be an employee of the Cape of Good Films. It was soon confirmed that no such person worked at the production company. After uncovering the scam, Ms. Anandani promptly informed the production house and filed a complaint with the Juhu Police Station, resulting in Prince’s arrest.

This incident highlights the ongoing issue of fraud within the entertainment sector and emphasizes the need for continuous alertness. The Juhu Police have praised Ms. Anandani for her quick action, which prevented a potential fraud. They continue to investigate the case and urge the public to verify the authenticity of any similar job offers thoroughly.
