Nanded: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Congress MP and former AICC chief Rahul Gandhi will run away from Wayanad in Kerala as the leader is finding it difficult to get people’s support there.

The Prime Minister’s statement came following speculation that Rahul Gandhi may once be against contest from Amethi, once considered a stronghold of the Gandhi family. Gandhi unsuccessfully contested from that seat in 2019.

Addressing an election rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, Modi termed Rahul Gandhi Shehzada (prince) and said that Congress is waiting for polling to be over in Wayanad on April 26. He would run away from Wayanad just like he ran away from Amethi in 2019.

Gandhi is contesting from the Wayanad seat, seeking reelection from that seat. In the 2019 general election, he contested from Amethi and this seat, and he lost in Amethi against the BJP’s Smriti Irani.

Modi also asked who is the leader of the INDIA bloc; they are unable to tell the people of India who will be the leader of their alliance.

Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be held in five phases from April 19 to May 20. Results will be declared on June 4. Nanded will be voting on April 26.
