To support young female football players, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali Tendulkar traveled to Ranchi on Saturday. The Indian batting great announced upon his arrival at the airport that he was in Ranchi on behalf of the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, which collaborates with the Youth Foundation, and that his purpose was to inspire young female football players. “This is where I came to see our foundation. I’ve come here to support the female football players because the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation and the Youth Foundation collaborate here,” Sachin told reporters.

Sachin is considered to be the greatest batter to have played the game. With 34,357 runs in 664 international appearances at an average of 48.52, Sachin is the highest run-scorer in international cricket. He has scored 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries, most in international cricket. He is the only player to have a century of centuries.

With 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,921 runs in Tests, Sachin also has the highest runs in both formats. He is the first player to hit an ODI double hundred and to have played 200 Test matches.

He also has 201 international wickets to his name, making him a very useful part-time spin bowling option. With a total of 664 international appearances, he is the most-capped player of all time.

He was a part of the Indian team that won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.

From 2008 to 2013, Sachin participated in six IPL seasons, all with the Mumbai Indians. During that time, he amassed 2334 runs at an average of 34.84 in 78 matches. Sachin has hit 29 sixes and 295 fours with a strike rate of 119.82, amassing 13 fifties and a century. As a player with the franchise, he took home the trophy in the 2013 tournament.

The 2010 IPL was Sachin’s best performance to date. In 15 games, he amassed 618 runs at a 47.53 average and 132.61 strike rate. During that season, he scored five fifties and his best individual score was 89*. That season, he took home the “Orange Cap.” MI came in second place that year.
