Mohit Ahire was reportedly occupied with a mobile game in an office cabin of a wedding hall when the unexpected visitor, a leopard, entered the room. Despite the initial surprise, Ahire managed to keep his composure and remained unnoticed by the wild animal.
Recalling the tense encounter, Ahire explained how the proximity of the leopard limited his movements. However, with remarkable calmness, he discreetly exited the office and promptly locked the door behind him. This incident occurred at approximately 7 am on Tuesday.
The proprietor of the wedding hall disclosed that earlier in the morning, the leopard had been sighted in a nearby residential area, prompting a search operation by locals, law enforcement, and forest authorities. Ahire promptly informed his father about the trapped leopard, leading to a swift response from the authorities.
Forest officers from the Malegaon range collaborated with the Nashik City team to tranquilize and rescue the five-year-old male leopard. Forest officials noted that the presence of agricultural fields nearby and the proximity of the river occasionally lead to leopard sightings in the area.
Ahire’s quick thinking and composed reaction amidst danger have garnered him widespread acclaim, underscoring the significance of maintaining composure during encounters with wildlife.
