A gruesome murder surfaced on Monday after police apprehended a minor boy who tried to flee during a patrol in Amravati. During questioning, the minor confessed to killing Rizwan Mulani, a 20-year-old resident of Pune, along with three accomplices.

The crime reportedly stemmed from a dispute over money. According to police, Rizwan had purchased gold using a non-functional credit card and sold it in Amravati. The group allegedly used the proceeds for leisure activities, which eventually led to conflict over splitting the cash.

On the evening of July 2, between 7 and 8 pm, the minor, Rizwan, and three others were consuming ganja near the SRPF camp. An argument escalated, and the suspects bludgeoned Rizwan with an iron rod and a pipe, killing him on the spot. They then dumped his body in a septic tank behind an abandoned building.

Acting on the confession, Frezarpura police recovered Rizwan’s decomposed remains earlier on Monday. A murder case has been registered against the minor and the three absconding suspects, who hail from Gurukrupa Colony, Girls High School Square, and Debuji Nagar in Tapovan.

The investigation is being led by Police Inspector Roshan Sirsat of Frezarpura Police Station. Authorities are now intensifying efforts to track down the other accused.
