Mumbai: People from the state who are residing in the city, including the Tulu speaking community, celebrated the massive victory of Mumbai North Lok Sabha candidate from Bharatiya Janata Party Gopal Shetty, who had contested against the Congress candidate Urmila Matondkar.
Shetty partook in the celebration rally and thanked every individual who stood by him and helped him emerge victorious.
Gopal Shetty said, “This victory has only been possible because of my constituency’s voters and their efforts.”
Gopal Shetty who is elected as the MP for second consecutive term, had earlier served as the corporation member of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Deputy Mayor, president of Mumbai BJP and also as an MLA.
He won against Urmila Matondkar with a whooping margin of over 4.5 Lakh votes.
