New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive raids across Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday as part of its ongoing investigation into the terrorist-gangster nexus case. The agency targeted the premises of alleged operatives connected to the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and Canada-based terrorist Arsh Dala. The raids took place in multiple locations, including Bhatinda, Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Ferozepur, Sangrur, Mansa in Punjab, and Sirsa in Haryana.
The NIA’s investigation has revealed attempts by foreign-based handlers of terrorist organizations to recruit operatives in India, with the goal of executing terror activities on Indian soil. The crackdown follows the arrest of Baljeet Maur, a key figure allegedly linked to KTF and Dala’s network. During the raids, the NIA seized mobile phones, digital devices, and incriminating documents, which are currently under examination.
The NIA’s investigation aims to disrupt several terror outfits involved in recruiting India-based associates, extorting funds, smuggling weapons, and facilitating the illegal movement of arms and ammunition into India. The case, which was registered earlier this year at the direction of the Union Home Ministry, highlights the increasing security concerns related to cross-border terror financing and recruitment activities.
