Several schools in Noida were evacuated on Thursday after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting large-scale security checks during ongoing CBSE board examinations.
Police said around a dozen schools reported similar threatening emails during the day. Teams from the Noida Police rushed to campuses and initiated standard emergency protocols.
Students shifted, searches conducted
As a precaution, students and teachers were moved to designated safe areas while bomb disposal squads and dog squads conducted detailed searches of school premises. Fire department teams were also placed on standby.
Officials confirmed that no suspicious objects had been found during initial inspections. However, search operations continued through the day to rule out any threat.
Several schools temporarily paused examination-related activities. Parents gathered outside campuses after learning about the evacuations but were reassured by authorities that safety procedures were being strictly followed.
Cyber probe underway
Cyber teams have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the emails. Officials are analysing email headers and digital trails to determine whether the messages were sent domestically or routed through international servers.
Police emphasised that every bomb threat is treated as serious, particularly when it involves schools and students.
Pattern of hoax threats
The latest incident follows a series of similar threat emails in recent months. Authorities recently arrested individuals linked to earlier hoax emails targeting multiple schools in the region.
Cases have been registered under provisions related to criminal intimidation, public mischief and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. Police said investigations into the broader network behind such threats remain ongoing.
Additional security personnel have been deployed near educational institutions as a precaution. Authorities urged parents and the public to rely only on official updates and avoid circulating unverified information.
