New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed an “Einstein Challenge” in an op-ed written for the New York Times on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, celebrated on Wednesday, October 2.
In the article, Modi wrote, “Mahatma Gandhi envisioned Indian nationalism as one that was never narrow or exclusive but one that worked for the service of humanity.”
Quoting renowned scientist Albert Einstein, Modi asked thinkers, entrepreneurs and tech leaders to take up the “Einstein Challenge” and come up with innovative ways through which the ideals preached by Gandhiji could be preserved for future generations.
In the 931-word long op-ed titled “Why Indians and the world needs Gandhi”, Modi further wrote, “In Gandhi, we have the best teacher to guide us. Who else could have created a mass agitation through a pinch of salt? The world bows to you, beloved Bapu!”
The 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation is being celebrated through a number of events conducted across the country today.
