Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a brief visit to his mother, Heeraben Modi, in her Gandhinagar home on Saturday June 18 to celebrate her 100th birthday.
After meeting his mother, he washed her feet and sought her blessings. A puja has been held at Vadnagar’s Hatkeshwar Temple to mark this occasion.
The Prime Minister reflected on his childhood in a lengthy post, thanking his mother Heeraba’s sacrifices and writing about the various parts of her life that shaped his mind, personality, and self-confidence. “Mother – is not just any other word in the dictionary. It encompasses a whole range of emotions – love, patience, trust, and a lot more. Across the world, irrespective of country or region, children have a special affection for their mothers. A mother not only gives birth to her children, but also shapes their mind, their personality, and their self-confidence. And while doing so, mothers selflessly sacrifice their own personal needs and aspirations.”
