New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed the farmers’ loan waiver scheme in Karnataka as a ‘cruel joke’.
He was specifically talking about the JDS-Congress coalition rule in Karnataka and said that what the coalition government has done in the name of loan waiver will go down in pages of history as the cruelest joke on farmers.
While interacting with the BJP workers of Karnataka on a video link, the PM said that over the six months in power only a handful of farmers could benefit from the schedule.
“They take credit for all the things they have done to farmers. Will they take credit of farmers suicide as well, ” the PM questioned also tagging that the HDK government is deeply rooted in arrogance.
