Ludhiana: A one-and-a-half-year-old girl fell ill after allegedly eating expired chocolates in Punjab’s Ludhiana. Sources said that the incident happened after the girl visited a relative in Patiala, where she was given chocolates purchased from a local grocery store.

The chocolates, bought by the relative Vicky Gehlot, were later confirmed to be expired during an investigation by the police and health department. The girl’s condition worsened after consuming the chocolates; the toddler had vomited blood.

According to a tweet by Taruni Gandhi, who claims to be a journalist, the girl child is no more.

According to some other tweets that were doing the rounds on X, the family filed a complaint, and the authorities raided the grocery store. They found expired food items besides chocolates in the store.

Just a month ago, a 10-year-old girl allegedly died from suspected food poisoning after eating birthday cake.
