Rajasthan: Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and his wife Sara are now officially divorced, as revealed in Sachin Pilot’s nomination papers for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections. Pilot, who married Sara in January 2004, indicated his marital status as “divorced” in the nomination form. Sara Pilot, the daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah and sister of ex-J&K CM Omar Abdullah, was previously mentioned as his wife in the affidavit submitted during the last assembly elections in November 2018.
The reasons behind the divorce and the exact timing remain undisclosed, marking the first public acknowledgment of their separation. Despite the divorce, Pilot listed both his children, Aryan Pilot and Vihaan Pilot, as dependents in the affidavit. Previously, in December 2018, when Sachin Pilot took oath as deputy chief minister, Sara Pilot, along with their sons and her father Farooq Abdullah, attended the function. Rumors about their separation had circulated during the 2014 general elections but were dismissed at that time.
