Bengaluru: Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has revealed that from an outset, it has been suspected that SDPI is behind the Bengaluru riots and now details of the organisation from Bengaluru, Mangaluru and other places are being collected.
Based on this data, a discussion with the CM will be held soon, he said adding that investigation is on and the officials are tracking similarities between Bengaluru riots and other riots that have taken place in the state.
“Several members of the SDPI have been arrested. Probe in on to find their role in the violent episode. There are evidences to prove that rioters were brought from other places to the spot,” he said adding that each and every person behind the riot will be brought to books.
Lauding the police, Bommai said that the policemen have put their lives on stake and controlled the situation.
It may be recalled that angry mob vandalised the residence of Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, after one of the relatives of the MLA posted a derogatory post against Prophet Mohommed. Three person lost their life in the episode, while scores of people were injured.
