A deeply disturbing video showing an Indian man allegedly hanging a stray dog for Instagram Reels has sparked outrage online. The video, which went viral, has been removed by Instagram, with a disclaimer warning viewers of its upsetting content.
The incident was shared by Sudhir Kudalkar, a senior officer with Mumbai Police, who collaborated with the PAL (Pure Animal Lovers) Foundation. Kudalkar, who has over 150,000 followers on Instagram, expressed his disgust, stating, “It is deeply disturbing to see videos where animals, particularly puppies, are harassed for entertainment. The idea that a puppy should suffer for a video is both cruel and unacceptable.” He urged anyone with information on the person responsible to report it to local authorities.
The video was originally posted by Instagram user “irfan_pathan_7r,” who also calls himself “King Khan.” In another video, the same individual is seen petting stray dogs and feeding them biscuits, creating a stark contrast to his previous actions. Social media users quickly pointed out the hypocrisy, with many expressing their anger in the comments. “You should regret your decision and apologize,” one user wrote, while others warned that the authorities would soon take action.
The case highlights the growing concern over animal cruelty for online attention, with many demanding justice for the abused dog.
