New Delhi: Adil Ahmad Dar, the suicide bomber responsible for the attack on the CRPF convoy, the worst-ever terror attack on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of more than 45 jawans, lived just 10 km from the spot.

Adil, also known as ‘Adil Ahmad Gaadi Takranewala’, joined the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group last year, as he was inspired to become a suicide bomber after the Taliban claimed victory since the US announced the withdrawal of its forces from Afghanistan.

Adil who hails from Gundibag, was trained by the Jaish, a Pakistan-based terror group for months, before the Pulwama attack.

The terror outfit released a pre-recorded video of Adil after the attack on CRPF jawans. Adil in the seven minutes long video has said that he has spent one year as a militant with Jaish-e-Mohammad and that the video is his last message for the people of Kashmir. “By killing few of our militant commanders, you can’t weaken us,” the Waqas Commando of Gundibagh can be heard saying in the video.

Sources from the police have confirmed the claim made by Adil that he joined Jaish-e-Mohammad a year ago.

“After waiting for a year, I finally got the chance to do what I joined the Jaish for,” Adil has said in the video.

He has also sent a message for the people of North Kashmir to join Jaish-e-Mohammad to fight against India.

The attack on the CRPF convoy is the biggest militant attacks in Kashmir in the last two decades. This attack is even bigger than the 2016 Uri attack in which 19 army men were killed.
