Chennai: In a heartwarming gesture, a woman named Pooranam, also known as Aayi Ammal, from Tamil Nadu has generously donated a piece of land valued at ₹4 crore for the expansion of a government school, dedicated to the memory of her late daughter. Despite the current market value of the land being assessed at over ₹7 crore, Pooranam’s selfless contribution aims to facilitate the growth of the educational institution.
Touched by her altruism, Chief Minister MK Stalin has expressed appreciation for Pooranam’s noble act, announcing that she will be conferred with a special award on Republic Day. Emphasizing the profound impact of her donation, the Chief Minister highlighted that the school, to be named after her departed daughter, will benefit thousands of students. Stalin took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to laud Pooranam, describing her as a symbol of the Tamil community that holds education and teaching in the highest regard.
