PatnaRashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate of the INDIA bloc in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, has indicated that the alliance may consider a Muslim leader for the deputy chief minister post if it forms the government.

Criticism of NDA government

Yadav said that voters have grown disillusioned with the NDA government, citing unmet promises on employment generation and infrastructure development. He noted that despite the “double-engine” governance claimed by the ruling alliance, Bihar continues to face pressing developmental challenges.

Election strategy of the INDIA bloc

The INDIA bloc, comprising seven parties including RJD and Congress, will contest the elections in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results scheduled for November 14. Yadav stressed that the alliance is focused on inclusive representation and addressing the concerns of all communities.

Emphasis on inclusivity

Highlighting the potential appointment of a Muslim deputy chief minister, Yadav said the alliance is committed to ensuring representation and fostering public confidence in governance. Analysts view this as an effort to consolidate minority support ahead of the elections.
