Hyderabad: A heated discussion over Indian Premier League (IPL) matches between an elderly fan of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and supporters of the Mumbai Indians (MI) tragically ended in the death of the CSK fan.
According to reports, a fiery argument erupted between the elderly man and MI supporters when the CSK fan inquired about Mumbai Indians’ (MI) chances of winning after former MI skipper Rohit Sharma’s departure in the IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday, March 27.
The match witnessed over 500 runs scored, marking it as one in IPL history where both teams scored more than 200 runs.

The inquiry by the elderly CSK fan seemed to irritate the MI supporters, leading to a violent assault with wooden sticks that caused fatal injuries.
The severely injured man was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The attackers, identified as Balwant Mahadev Jhanjge (50) and Sagar Sadashiv Jhanjge (35), along with Bandopant Bapso Tibile (63), were all residents of Hanmantwadi.

In that match, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hammered their highest-ever total in IPL history by posting 277/3 in 20 overs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, breaking the 11-year-old record of 263/5 by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai Indians, after winning the toss, invited the home team Hyderabad to bat first, a decision which turned out to be awfully wrong. Chasing the mammoth total, the Mumbai Indians fell short by 33 runs.
