Following Diwali festivities, Himachal Pradesh has recorded commendable air quality levels, with Shimla’s Air Quality Index (AQI) remaining below 50. Other cities in the state are also experiencing normal to good air quality, attributed to a growing awareness of ‘Green Diwali’ and the use of eco-friendly crackers.
Environmental expert Dr. Suresh Kumar Atri reported a 30-40% reduction in pollution compared to previous years, aided by educational initiatives. Tourists are appreciating the fresh air and scenic beauty, contrasting it with the pollution levels in cities like Delhi.
