Two individuals have been arrested for a theft at the house of Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi in the Eravipuram area of Kollam, Kerala, police reported on Wednesday. The suspects, aged 18 and 20, were apprehended using CCTV footage that identified them as locals.
The accused, identified as Arun (18) and Shimnas (20), allegedly stole pipes and old containers from a shed next to Gopi’s residence. The theft reportedly occurred while the family was away. The crime was discovered on Tuesday afternoon when a relative noticed the shed’s grill gate had been broken and alerted the authorities.
Upon reviewing the CCTV footage from the area, police were able to quickly identify and arrest the suspects. Authorities have stated that the duo are repeat offenders and are believed to have targeted the property on multiple occasions in the past. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to recover the stolen items and determine the full scope of their criminal activities.
