Mathura: More than 20 individuals sustained injuries following a railing collapse at the Radha Rani temple in Barsana, as reported by the temple’s clergy on Monday.
The unfortunate event occurred during Sunday evening amidst a large gathering of devotees eagerly awaiting the temple doors to open.
The temple priest stated that the incident transpired during a pre-Holi celebration, drawing a significant crowd to the temple premises.
Dr. Manoj Vashishtha, overseeing Barsana’s Community Health Centre, confirmed that 22 individuals were admitted to the facility post-incident, with most suffering from fractures.
District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh assured prompt medical attention to the injured.
Subsequent to the incident, crowd management measures were implemented, ensuring devotees could proceed with their darshan peacefully.
Witnesses recounted that a surge of devotees clamored for ‘ladoos’ being distributed during the celebration, coinciding with the railing’s collapse.
