Amethi: During her visit to her parliamentary constituency of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, BJP MP Smriti Irani addressed the issue of unpaid dues to retired teachers. In a phone call with the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Irani reprimanded the education department official over the pending salaries and directed them to promptly clear the dues. The Union Minister of Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs emphasized the need to prioritize the welfare of retired teachers and urged the DIOS to exhibit compassion in resolving the matter. Irani, who won the Amethi constituency in the 2019 general elections, continues to actively address concerns and engage with the local community.
