Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand: An FIR has been filed against Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar and his subordinate YVVJ Rajasekhar as per the directives of a court in Almora town, Uttarakhand.
The court, responding to a complaint lodged by the Pleasant Valley Foundation, instructed the revenue police to initiate a case and conduct an investigation into the allegations. The foundation accused the officials of orchestrating an incident on February 14th, wherein four individuals purportedly affiliated with them vandalized the office of the NGO’s joint secretary at a school in Dadakada village.
They allegedly seized files, records, documents, and pen drives containing evidence of their involvement in fraudulent activities. Moreover, they allegedly issued threats to implicate NGO officials if corruption complaints lodged by the foundation with the Vigilance department and other authorities were not retracted immediately. The complainant also stated that the assailants attempted to coerce him into signing pre-prepared documents and seized ₹63,000 in cash from a drawer when he resisted.
The registration of the case against the officials was undertaken by the revenue police sub-inspector of Govindpur following the orders of Almora’s Chief Judicial Magistrate, confirmed Almora’s District Magistrate Vinit Tomar.
The FIR accuses the officials of offenses under sections 392 (robbery), 447 (criminal trespass), 120b (criminal conspiracy), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, as well as the SC/ST Act.
