A video by French content creator Icy French has triggered a wave of online debate after gaining over 28 million views for its stark contrast in tone. In the first half, Icy French is seen asking foreigners, “What’s the dirtiest country in the world?” — and the repeated answer is “India.”

However, the video then takes a sharp turn. Icy French travels to India to showcase the country’s modern, clean, and green side—featuring polished highways, upscale cityscapes, and tidy public areas. His concluding message to the audience is a direct rebuttal:
“Next time before commenting bad things, come to India and see for yourself.”

The video has since exploded across social media platforms, igniting strong reactions from Indian netizens.
“Those people can’t afford a trip to India, so they judge it blindly,” wrote one commenter.
Another added, “India is vast—some parts may be messy, but many are clean too. You can’t judge an entire nation from one corner.”

Not all responses were in full support. Some users argued the video showed only one side of the country.
“Bro is only showing the polished parts,” a commenter noted.
“I think I’ve been living in an entirely different India,” quipped another, highlighting regional disparities.

This isn’t the first time global perceptions of India have caused controversy. YouTuber Bald and Bankrupt once called India “the most frustrating place to travel,” sparking similar criticism for selective portrayal.
