A 31-year-old software engineer allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Miyapur, with police stating that he was struggling to cope with professional demands at his workplace.

According to police officials, the incident came to light on Wednesday morning. Preliminary inquiries suggest that the software professional, who had joined a well-known technology firm around two months ago, had recently been assigned coding-related responsibilities that he reportedly found difficult to manage.

Work pressure reportedly affected mental well-being

Investigators said the engineer had shared his concerns about work-related stress with his wife and brother. His wife, whom he married about a year ago, is currently staying at her native place in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Family members told police that the couple remained in regular contact over phone calls.

Authorities clarified that long working hours were not cited as the immediate reason behind the incident. Police said further investigation is underway to understand the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

Growing concerns over mental health in tech sector

The incident has once again brought attention to mental health challenges faced by professionals in high-pressure industries, particularly the technology sector. Experts have repeatedly stressed the importance of emotional support, open communication and timely professional help for individuals facing stress, anxiety or emotional distress.

Police have urged families and workplaces to be more alert to signs of mental strain and to encourage individuals to seek help without hesitation.
