Mangaluru: According to guidelines issued by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V., the classes for second PUC will reopen from September 1 in the Dakshina Kannada district.

The district administration has said that the online classes should also continue for the students who opt for it and asked the colleges not to make physical classes compulsory.

As per the guidelines, Principals of the colleges have been given the responsibility of following the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP).

A Covid care center should be arranged by the college for students coming from Kerala who will be under quarantine for 7 days. A medical treatment center should also be made available for if anyone is found Covid positive. Students in quarantine should undergo RT-PCR test after seven days and attend classes with a negative certificate. Online classes should be arranged for students in the Covid Care Centers.

The staff of the college coming from Kerala should undergo RT-PCR test once in seven days even if they have received both doses of vaccine. The guideline also stated that once the admission process of 1st PUC is completed, the colleges can take permission from the DDPU and start classes after September 15.
