Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress party for seeking support from the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political wing of the banned Popular Front of India, in Karnataka for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at a roadshow in Channapatna town within the Bengaluru Rural constituency, Shah questioned the safety of Karnataka under a Congress government with such alliances.
Highlighting the significance of the Bengaluru Rural constituency, where incumbent MP DK Suresh, brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, is facing NDA candidate Dr. CN Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist, Shah emphasized the importance of internal safety in the upcoming polls. He reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the nation and propelling it towards development.
Shah urged voters to support the NDA candidates in all 28 seats in Karnataka, drawing parallels between Modi and Dr. Manjunath as honest individuals dedicated to social service. He called on the electorate to elect Dr. Manjunath with a significant margin of 5 lakh votes.
Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy disclosed that it was on Shah’s suggestion that Dr. Manjunath was fielded as a BJP candidate, emphasizing the importance of the alliance between BJP and JDS in the state.
Dr. Manjunath, expressing confidence in his victory, echoed Modi’s call for securing over 400 seats for the NDA in the upcoming elections, citing the desire for change among the people and his commitment to serving them.
