The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heat wave conditions in several northern districts of Karnataka until April 5, along with the likelihood of dry weather prevailing across the state in the forthcoming days.
According to IMD forecasts, specific wind and weather patterns spanning from south Tamil Nadu to east Vidarbha may result in isolated light rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra from April 5 to 8. Additionally, regions including Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Karnataka might experience scattered rainfall from April 6 to 8.
While North Interior Karnataka grappled with isolated instances of heat wave conditions on Tuesday, the Kodagu district saw relief with fresh rainfall. However, districts such as Bagalkote, Kalaburgi, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichur, Bellari, Belgaum, Koppal, and Gadag are anticipated to face heat wave conditions, as per IMD predictions.
Further IMD forecasts for April 6 indicate light rainfall in isolated areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Kodagu, Mandya, and Mysuru districts, while the remaining regions of the state are expected to remain dry. Similar trends are anticipated for April 7 and 8, with scattered rainfall in some districts and dry weather in others.
The IMD also highlighted the likelihood of hot and humid conditions in certain districts over the next three days. Additionally, a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by two to four degrees Celsius is expected in several districts of North and South Interior Karnataka over the next five days.
For Bengaluru city specifically, partly cloudy skies in the morning and clear skies by afternoon/evening are forecasted, with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
