Bagalakote: “I myself resigned from the Chief Minister’s post. There was no pressure on me. It is also my own decision not to stand for elections. I am 80 years now and I have occupied all positions in politics. I have also worked towards giving someone else a chance and also to make Basavaraj Bommai the Chief Minister,” said Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “The news of leaving the party has no significance. Senior BJP Leaders will not leave the party. There is no leadership in the Congress party. Rahul Gandhi is no equal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah,” he said.

Former Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar are confident that they will become the Chief Ministers of the State. However, his dream will not come true,” he said.
