Bagalakote: It is the duty of all of us to maintain national unity, integrity and security, said Banahatti Home Guards Unit Officer Ishwar Geddeppa.
He was speaking after inaugurating a parade organised by the Home Guards on the occasion of National Unity Day at Ishwarlinga Ground in Banahatti in the early hours of Monday October 31.
“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played an important role in national integration. He served as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country and was known as the ‘Iron Man’ by the country. Patel was a symbol of patriotism. The ideals and principles of such a great person should be inculcated in our lives,” he said.
An impressive parade took place on the main streets of the City from Ishwaralinga Ground in Banahatti. On this occasion, the Home Guards were administered a pledge on national unity.
