Bagalkot: Former chief minister and Karnataka Assembly Opposition leader Siddaramaiah has said that, from now on, he is not a ‘proud Mysurean’ anymore, but a ‘proud Uttara Kannadiga’.
Addressing the gathering at a permanent drinking water project foundation laying ceremony on Monday, February 3, he said, “When the people of Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency did not stand by me during the 2018 Assembly election, it was the people of Badami who supported me and made me victorious. Hence, I’ll be always grateful to them. For the next three years, I will do whatever is possible from my end to develop Badami.”
“I’m no longer a Mysurean. I’m an Uttara Kannadiga. I’ve adapted myself to the lifestyle of this land,” he added.
Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement the “Anna Bhagya” scheme that he had implemented when he was the Chief Minister of Karnataka and mocked him by asking if there was no hunger in Gujarat.
