Belagavi: Belagavi District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and NDRF organised a defence and mock demonstration on disaster management at BPCL-IOCL Petroleum Storage Centre in Desur on Monday December 5.
The mock demonstration was carried out in order to ensure that the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) tackles petroleum wagon tanker leaks, fire accidents in petroleum storages with a view to bring it under control and mitigate the consequences. The mock show was held under the directions of Belagavi Sub-Divisional Officer Balram Chavan and District Factories Deputy Director Venkatesh Rathod.
Under the mock drill, as soon as the information about the mishap was received, the District Administration instructed all the concerned departments to visit the spot and take immediate action to control the mishap.
