COVID impact: Belagavi woman takes COVID-ve husband’s dead body on push-cart

Belagavi: Fear of Corona Virus is such that many inhuman incidents too are coming to light. A video of a lady accompanied by a youth and man, pushing a cart laden with a dead body has gone viral.

The incident took place at Athani in Belagavi, on July 17, said sources, adding that the lady in the video was taking the dead body of her husband on a push-cart, with the help of an unidentified man after all her relatives refused to help her out due to COVID fear.

It is said that the deceased man was a 55-year-old cobbler, who had died on Wednesday owing to heart ailment. Sources say that the man was tested for Corona Virus after his death and the reports had come negative.

Despite having been tested negative, none of the relatives come out to help her. Due to acute poverty, as she could nto afford to get an ambulance service, she, her young son decided to take the body on a push-cart to the crematorium.
