Dharwad: Overcoming hurdles and guiding the society on legal path should be the duty of advocates, said District Principal & Sessions Judge V Shreeshanand.
Speaking after inaugurating the Advocates’ Day and Physically Challenged Day programme here on Saturday, the judge said not many people in the world are blessed to serve the society. But, advocates are literally fortunate because they have a chance to win people’s heart and bring a smile on their face, he said.
Law is equal for all, and it is up to advocates to ensure this. Lawyers should respond to the grievances of the petitioners, he added.
Advocates had played a big role in the freedom struggle, and they should rededicate themselves to create a healthy society, the judge said.
Specially challenged
Speaking on the physically challenged persons, Judge Shreeshanand said such persons are blessed with abundant talent and they should not be condemned. Along with sympathy, such persons should be given more opportunities to come up in life and shape their career, he stressed.
