Dharwad: In order to dislodge the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Zilla Panchayat presidential post, its Congress members are ready to pass the ‘No Confidence’ motion.
Currently, the ZP has 10 BJP members, 11 Congress and one independent member.
Based on this move, the Congress members have written a letter to the secretary of the Zilla Panchayat President Chaitra Gurupadappa to decide on the no confidence motion within 15 days.
The reason for this is although the BJP has attained a majority with 11 members and got elected to the Zilla Panchayat with the Congress getting 10, one of the BJP members named Yogish was murdered due to which the winning party’s count fell to 10.
Even after the Congress party winning the ZP by-election, BJP continued to hold its position.
