Dharawad: State-level National Green Tribunal (NGT) Chairman Justice Subhash B. Adi has said that legal action should be taken against those who violate the rules and put up banners, bunting everywhere without permission. As well as they should be removed.

He was speaking after holding a meeting of District-level Officials at the Deputy Commissioner’s office Hall. “Encroaching on the footpath next to the roads in front of the house, shop, and office, some use it as their own property. It is public property, he said, adding that local government’s should clear such encroachments.

“Banners, posters and buntings are put up without permission to defame the City. These should be controlled and action should be taken against the violations. Every vacant site owner must build a compound for their site. Otherwise it will become a dustbin and spoil the environment. The owners should be made aware of this,” he said and added that a fine should be imposed if they fail to do so.

“The officials should conduct a survey of the urban areas and know about the life of the City, business transactions, and traffic congestion,” he said and added that it would be possible to maintain the City properly, all cleanl and beautiful.
