Dharwad: Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar has announced his resignation from the BJP. BJP State election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister Joshi and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai tried to convince Shettar on April 15 night. However, the negotiations failed and Jagadish Shettar finally announced his resignation from the BJP.
Speaking after the meeting, Shettar said that he will go to Sirsi on Sunday and meet Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri and tender his resignation as MLA.
“There is a conspiracy against me. I won’t say now who is behind it. I will also resign from the primary membership of the BJP. I am sure I will contest,” he said.
