Gadag: The central government had to come to the rescue of the state government to mitigate the prevailing drought situation in Karnataka, said former chief minister and Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, he slammed the Congress leaders for holding a stir seeking drought relief. Compared to the total grants given by the UPA Government, the BJP led NDA Government has released double the amount in last ten years.

The non submission of documents in the right time led to delay in releasing the funds and the same thing has been told to the government of India by the Supreme Court. The central government has taken a big decision that it would release funds if the election commission gives green signal. The previous BJP government had disbursed compensation to farmers without waiting for the centre to release money. The state government should have done that but it didn’t do. At last the central government has to come to the state ‘s rescue.

He said the Prime Minister has provided vaccines to everyone during the COVID pandemic. Even the Congress leaders have taken the vaccine. “To repay the favor of saving lives, we must vote for Modi. To repay Modi, who has provided water to every household, we must vote for the BJP. Modi, who provides 5 kg of rice to every family, must be voted for by the BJP. Every vote should be for making Modi the Prime Minister again,” he said.

The Congress has promised Rs one lakh for each woman but they have not fielded the candidates in all 543 seats. Modi has made the Bharath strong in last ten years due to which there has been Modi wave in the whole nation, he said.
