Hubballi: Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar raised concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He stated that Uttar Pradesh had previously faced similar issues, but under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, peace and tranquility have been restored.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Neha Hiremath’s parents in the city on Sunday, Shettar expressed suspicion that there may be training centers for religious conversion and Love Jihad in the state. He urged the police or CID to investigate and uncover such centers.
Shettar also addressed the press regarding the possibility of multiple accused being involved in Neha’s murder, suggesting that the police should investigate this angle. He condemned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Home Minister’s statements attributing Neha’s murder to personal reasons, stating that such remarks seemed aimed at protecting someone before the investigation had even begun.
Shettar criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for not visiting Hiremath’s house, claiming that he is busy in doing “appeasement politics.”
He demanded that the police conduct an impartial investigation and proposed the bringing stringent laws to encounter such accused for doing heinous crimes.
