Dharwad: Deputy Commissioner S B Bommanahalli has asked officials to incorporate people’s suggestions with regard to the ambitious “Smart City Project” on which people have high expectations and wish to see Hubballi-Dharwad becoming a model city.
Presiding over an officials’ meeting in this regard, DC said, “The union government would be contributing 30 percent funds and the state government the remaining 70 percent for the project. Thereby, this is a dream project of both the governments. The planning report should be inclusive and should meet the demands of the people”.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already conducted a meeting with the district in-charge secretaries, officials and has collected information on the components to be included into the Smart City project,” he said.
Smart City project
Bommanahalli said the companies which have bagged contract for the project may not be having adequate information on the demography and civic amenities in twin cities. Hence the officials have to provide them all the required information, he added.
Much has been spoken about the Smart City project in the last two years. Similarly, people have high expectations and their valuable suggestions will be incorporated into the project, he said besides asking officials to arrange for a stakeholders’ meet in this regard.
Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Pandurang Rane said the Smart City project should have modernised police station and new cells should be set up helping people to file their complaints without much hurdles.
