Belagavi: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya is known for controversies. The latest addition to the list is his statement in Belagavi that the flood-hit state does not require the Centre’s assistance.
While answering questions about the delayed release of relief funds from the Central Government needed for the flood relief efforts in districts such as Belagavi, and the Prime Minister Modi’s refusal to give an appointment to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, he said that the Centre has made the state financially powerful through the 14th Finance Commission.
“B S Yediyurappa is visiting all the flood-affected areas. He is announcing relief, and rehabilitation works have already started. In such a scenario, there is no need to blame Modi,” he said.
As expected, his statement led to a massive controversy with several leaders from his own cadre asking him not to make such childish statements.
