Gadag: Mabubi Eligar, an elderly woman from the district, fell at Congress leader H K Patil’s feet during his visit to twin cities Gadag-Betagiri on Thursday, October 25, and begged for his help.
The incident occurred when Patil was inspecting the flood-hit areas of the district. As soon as he stepped into Ward no. 19, the elderly woman shed tears and asked for his help.
She said that she had lost her house in the floods and that she was staying with her neighbours.
“We are economically backward, because of which we are not able to construct a new house or rent a house. I request you to bring this to the notice of the government and help us in this tough time,” she pleaded.
Obliging to the woman’s request, Patil assured that a new house would be constructed for her soon, under the government scheme.
