22-year-old killed in bull-taming contest in Bettakerur

Haveri: A youth was killed in a bull-taming competition held in Bettakerur Village of the Hirekerur Taluk in Haveri District.

According to the Hamsabhavi Police, who has registered an FIR in this regard, the deceased has been identified as Shanmukha Huded (22), a resident of Guddada Hosalli Village in Ranebennur Taluk.

The incident happened while he was watching the competition. Shanmukha sustained serious injuries on his abdomen as the bull attacked him with its horns. He died due to heavy bleeding.

It can be recalled here that activists are opposing this competition for a long time due to the allegations of cruelty against animals involved in this.
